SIR,

In reply to Mr Lucas's letter of the 19th instant (15518/97), I am directed by the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury to acquaint you, for the information of the Secretary for the Colonies, that the necessary directions have this day been given to the Deputy Master of the Mint to supply (should he see no objection) the undermentioned subsidiary coins for the use of the Government of Hong Kong, to the total nominal value of ... as requested in the letter under reply, viz.:-- 500,000 ten-cent pieces every fortnight until the 30th September next, in addition to the 2,500,000 pieces per fortnight, the supply of which was authorised in the Treasury letter of the 15th instant.
