With reference to previous correspondence terminating with your letter No. 17439 dated 16th August, I am directed

by the Secretary of State for India in Council to inform

you that subject to the concurrence of the Secretary of

State for the Colonies Lord George Hamilton proposes to

extend the special employment of Dr. J.A. Lowson in

connection with Plague duties for a further period

expiring on 9th proximo.
