be permitted to volunteer for temporary employment in connection with plague duty at Bombay and
following this plague

Mr Chamberlain has
no
objection to
your placing your
services at the disposal of
the Indian Govt
on condition
that you
return to Hong Kong
before the end
of the
current year, and
as soon as you
can be spared
and that from the date of your
embarkation in this Colony
until
your
arrival in
(pay and
the
Colony all your expenses shall be borne by the Govt of India
