Mr Chamberlain would be glad to be informed what is the limit of the total note issue of the bank, not only in Hongkong, but in all its branches, and by what instrument that limit is fixed, since the securities deposited must be equivalent to one third of the total note issue.
I am also to enquire at what places the notes are issued, and whether they are redeemable only at the Branch of the Bank from which they are issued.
