I have the honour to forward for the information
of the Secretary of State copy of a letter from the Govern-
ment of Hong Kong transmitting four token coins suspected to
be spurious in order that they might be assayed at the Royal
18th June 1897,
Mint, and of the report of the Deputy Master from which it
appears that the coins are undoubtedly counterfeits.
We have furnished the Colonial Government with a
copy of the Deputy Master's letter and have informed it that
we have communicated the correspondence to the Colonial
Office.
