Sir,

ENCLOSURE

Magistracy, Hong-Kong.

22nd November, 1897.

I beg to bring to your notice that when I was pensioned off at the end of September 1895 on the abolition of my office, I applied to the Chairman of the Widows' and Orphans' Pensions Fund, and received the refund of one half of my total contributions to the fund under section 17 of Ordinance No.30 of 1890 as I retired from service as bachelor.

Now that I am recalled to service, I presume I shall have to contribute towards this fund. I therefore most respectfully beg that I may be permitted to re-pay the said one half of my total contribution together with the amount I should have contributed during the time I was on temporary pension (which is counted to my service see Pension Minute No.10 of Government Gazette page 575 dated 3rd July, 1894) at the rate of 10 per cent per month out of salary until the whole amount is paid and thus be allowed...

The Honourable

Henry Ernest Wodehouse, C.M.G.

Police Magistrate.
