That the services of one Chinese Assistant master be dispensed with, the amount thus saved being applied to the salary of the vacancy which may first occur, for Dr Wright points out it is not possible to foresee whether a vacancy will first occur amongst the senior or junior Chinese assistants, whose salaries range from $300 to $600 per annum: With a view to giving partial effect to the above proposed changes, Dr Wright recommends, with the concurrence of the Governing Body, that the vacancy caused by Mr Jameson's resignation be filled by the appointment of two new English masters
