I agree, but I should have liked to have little more time to consider the matter, as several candidates are on the list who, to the best of my recollection, have had experience of this kind of appointment. The man who wants this kind of work consequently has a wider field of selection than Dr. Wright's friends at Oxford (whose acquaintances must be to a certain extent limited) can possibly have.
I do not, however, have any objection to Dr. Wright making enquiries to select the proposed limitations.

I do not wish to have M. Ralphs, who is known locally & considered suitable, superseded by another candidate in this instance. It is in the case of further vacancies that I think that the candidates on Dr. Chamberlain's list should be fully weighed against those whom Dr. Wright may be able to recommend.
