1. Pau 2. Will the $1620
man have compensation allowance? Do you think it advisable that
Oxford men should be asked to go out for such small pay? 3. You have no objection to
Wright asking his Oxford friends to look out for a man, have you? If he does not pledge CPL.

I gather
1. From para. 2 of Despatch. That during the year of probation he will not.
Might suggest that it should be allowed?
we not X. altering the Existing index.
2. The pay is poor & they are not likely to get a man who has taken a good degree. But after
the pay with Exchange Compensation the First year will be £225 a year or at least £200 a year.
The man selected on will get considerable promotion if he does come.
Oxford is full of all sorts & conditions I believe plenty could be found willing men:
a cupt 433 the post & until we get the Education Dept to give up asking for refund of Training Expenses to the Colony from Certificated masters who go.
I think the less we have to do with that day the better.
A Cambridge man has accepted one of the English Mauritius masterships on Rs 2500 [I think that is the amount but it is not mentioned in circulation].
Paper are but strictly speaking should we not be consulted?
I merely thought we should not put ourselves in any way.
Keep them.
