Sir,

Copy of Report dated January 16th 1877

Central Station

&

I have the honour to report for your information respecting the houses which were reported as gambling houses.

Nov 2, 4 and 6, Leung Hing Street are all family houses with the ground floors in business use.

Mr. 1 Leung Hing Street, the ground, first and third floors are occupied by families, the second floor is vacant, and gambling may have been carried on there, but at present there is none. No. 3 Leung Hing Street, the 2nd and 3rd floors are occupied by families, the ground floor was vacant, but recently occupied by coolies.

Search warrants were executed on the 11th instant. No. 1, the ground floor is a shop, but the 1st and 2nd floors are occupied by families.

No. 2, ground floor a shop, first floor a Brothel, second floor vacant.

No. 5, ground floor vacant, first and second Brothels.

No. 12 Lower Lascar Row is a Eurasian boarding house.

No. 41 Lower Lascar Row, I hold a warrant, not yet executed.

I suspect these vacant floors are used by gamblers who shift about from one to the other as it suits them.

H. I. May be.

M.G. Capt. Supt. of Police

I have the honour to be,

Sir,

Your obedient Servant

(sd) W. Baker

Superintendent

William Reid.
