between that portion of the yard which is situated on the foreshore and the proposed extension on the East side of the road must necessarily interfere to a considerable extent with the ordinary traffic.

You will observe from M. Ormsby's report that the area of foreshore referred to by the Admiralty is reserved for the proposed extension of the Naval Yard, T6980, and the Commander-in-Chief on this station has been so informed.

You will also observe that the strip of land 30 feet wide behind and parallel to the coal store south of the Naval Yard - marked B in the plan accompanying the letter from the Admiralty of the 4th August last - cannot be transferred to the Naval Authorities for the reasons stated.
