Student Interpreter in the Public service of this Colony.
Mr. Moore is of English parentage, and joined the staff of the Post Office after a competitive examination in March, 1894.
He has been studying the Chinese language with a view to qualifying for allowance under the Regulations for the encouragement of proficiency in the language amongst Public officers, and has made such satisfactory progress as to justify the belief that he will eventually become an efficient interpreter.
Mr Moore is well reported on by the Head of his department.
