from gamblers or gambling houses for the purpose of paying any of the Indian Policemen in the Hongkong Police Force. He further stated that he had never paid any monies to such Indian Policemen by way of bribe. I pressed him in Cross-examination and in answer to my questions, he stated that he had never paid any monies by way of bribes to members of the Hongkong Police Force. He further stated that if any person had so informed me (this Deponent) such information would be false and untrue.
I verily believe that the evidence given in examination and re-examination by the said Leung at the said enquiry was taken down verbatim by the Honorable Francis Henry May, Captain Superintendent of Police, and I believe that the above Statements of the said Leung mentioned and set forth in paragraph 3 of this my declaration were so committed to writing as aforesaid by the Honorable Francis Henry May, Captain Superintendent of Police, and if reference thereto be made, it will be found that what I have stated in this my declaration is true.
And I make this solemn declaration conscientiously believing the same to be true and by virtue of the provisions of "The Statutory Declarations Act, 1835."
