REPORT ON ORDINANCE 24 OF 1897,

I have examined the accompanying Ordinance,

"An Ordinance to consolidate and amend the

Laws relating to the Construction of Ordinances, to further shorten the Language used in Ordinances, and for

other like purposes."

and I am of opinion that the Ordinance is one which is not

contrary to the Governor's Instructions.

This Ordinance was drafted by Sir John

Carrington, and carefully considered by myself before it was

passed.

The following minute as to "The objects and

reasons" and the annexed copy of the Ordinance itself (on

white paper) which contains, in the margin of each clause, a

reference to the origin of such clause, will fully explain
