With reference to the Governor's telegram of the 18th inst., I have the honour to make the following application.
Having heard by the last English mail the death of Mr Scott, the Director of the Botanical Gardens, Mauritius, I beg to apply for the post thus rendered vacant, should it not have been already filled.
It is now six years since I was appointed to my present post of Assistant to the Superintendent of the Botanical and Afforestation Department, Hong Kong.
