Police Office

12th. October, 1897.

Young Kai cross-examined by Sergeant Foord states:-

I did not know to whom the money was paid that I paid to A Pong and Chii Tsai Kan.

Tai Pau Chi told me that the money was for you. Tai Pau Chi was the master of the gambling house.

I paid A Pong from the 1st. noon of last year up to the time that A Pong went away.

I have not known A Pong very long. He was formerly employed in the Kowloon Gambling house.

He got his living by gambling.

He did not come to Hongkong to gamble.

I paid him because the master of the house told me to do so.

He did not come to our house to gamble. I paid him myself. I would know him if I saw him.

I do not know where he is banished to. I do not know what District he belongs to.

Tai Pau Chi is a Tung Koon.

Sergeant Foord states:-
