I have been living in this house since the 7th moon of last year. After the Detectives were banished on account of the seizure at No. 3 East Street, I went to Canton and stayed there about a fortnight. I then came back to Hongkong but left for Canton again in a few days. I have been going up and down between Canton and Hongkong since.

While I was employed at the out office of the gambling house, I used to make up parcels of money daily to be distributed to various people. I used also to distribute the parcels.

I distributed the parcels in the out office.

I used also to write on the various parcels the name of the person for whom the parcel was intended, and the amount that the parcel contained. I was also employed to supervise the watchmen and see that they did their duties.

Lam Chi kept a book in which he made entries of the payments, but I did not write in it. I never read it, Lam Chi would not let me see it. I used to make up only 5 large parcels a day. The large parcels, with the exception of Young Fat's, did not contain smaller ones inside. Lam Chi used to tell me to put up so much money for a certain person, and I put it up and wrote the name and the amount on the outside.
