I have the honour to transmit for your information a copy of the report referred to,
which you will observe that the independent enquiry regarding the manner in which Mr Plummer discharged his duties as Acting Director of the Observatory in 1895 was made by M. F.%. May, Captain Superintendent of Police, and Mr. N.G. Mitchell-Innes, late Colonial Treasurer.
