The Government of Hong Kong have in their possession 240 sheets of 1¢ Postage and Revenue Stamps, obsolete issue, of which 40 sheets are surcharged in Chinese and 200 are not.
These Stamps have been declared obsolete on account of recent cases of forgery.
You may remember that a few days ago one of your partners informed us verbally that you did not think there was much chance of our being able to dispose of these Stamps at their face value.
We should be much obliged to you if you would let us know what, in your opinion, is the market value of the Stamps, which represent a total of about $57,600 - if they were to be offered for sale in England.
