burnt myself at Upper Lascar Row. I do not know the number of it. It was the out office of the gambling house.

On the 15th day of the 11th moon No. 661 came to the gambling house and knocked at the door. I remember the date because Lan Chi told me after 661 had been to knock at the door to go & speak to him about the matter.

Next day 661 came back to Cheung Hing Street.

No. 661 knows me. He has known me since I was a boy because I used to live opposite to the old No. 8 Station in Taipingshan. I lived in Upper Station Street. He called to me & said "Why is it that all men are paid and not me. You tell your master to pay me 65 cents a day".

I told Lan Chi. Lan Chi asked me how much he wanted. I said 65 cents. Lan Chi said he would pay him 65 cents. About the 20th of the 11th Moon I told No. 661 that the money would be paid to him.

After that I paid him sometimes every five days, once in 8 or 10 days. I paid him at the rate of 65 cents a day. He gave me 5 cents a day for myself.

Previous to the day that No. 661 came to the gambling house and knocked at the door, he frequently beat the fokis. After he received the money, he did not beat the fokis.

[...] June, [...] continued to pay No. 661 up to the 13th of [...].
