Lam Chi said "if he won't beat the fokis you can pay him". No. 547 had beaten the fokis before.
I knew No. 547 before. I have known him since I was a boy as I used to live outside old No. 8 Station in Taipingshan. After that I paid him. After I paid him he did not beat the fokis.
I paid him up to the 18th of June. After that gambling stopped and I did not pay him any more. He was always in plain clothes when I paid him. I wrote his number down on a paper and the amount that he was to receive daily under it. I wrote it down daily or the sharoff wrote it daily because I received the money daily. I kept it for No. 547 till he came to fetch it. The papers were burnt when the gambling stopped. All the books & papers belonging to the gambling house were burnt on the 21st of June. I saw them burnt.
