A. S. Graham further states: - I have no money here. I have not sent any money home during the last 8 months. Formerly I kept a sister who was unwell and sent her money monthly. Had I been receiving money from gambling houses I ought to be able to show something for it. I have not been extravagant. I live well and that accounts for my not having saved anything out of my pay.
When my mother died she left me 100 pounds. I gave half to my sister and left half at home.
I can produce excellent characters from all the employers I have served under. I have a clear conscience that I have received no money or money's worth from anyone.
