This Sergeant's No. is on the list of bribed persons found at No.3 East Street in connection with the gambling scandal.
I confronted P. S. No. 47 Poora with Sam Yin this morning and I enclose a copy of Sam Yin's statement, his answers to P. S. Foord's questions and P. S. Foord's statement in reply.
This man joined in September 1882, out to make up time spent on leave he has to serve 10 months & 16 days more from the 5th instant to make up 15 years (He is a 15 years service pensionable man).
I attach copy of his character roll.
His present term of service (that is the period of 5 years he is now serving) expires on 13 January 1900.
I can only repeat what I have said in Inspector Hennessy & Sergeant Phelps' case as to the genuineness of Sam Yin's list and the accuracy of such of Sam Yin's statements as have been tested.
