C O P Y.
Boo.Captain Superintendent of Police.
Sir,
226
I have enquired of Inspectors Kemp and Duncan re relations between Inspector Hennessy and Yeung Fat and both state that they never saw anything which would lead them to believe that Inspector Hennessy was on friendly terms with Yeung Fat or otherwise; they never saw Yeung Fat visiting Inspector Hennessy in his Quarters.
As regards Inspector Hennessy's statement about saving money I can believe it, he was always careful with his money, and I heard that when he went on leave in 1894 he had $1,000 in the Bank; I never heard that he was ever in any ways pressed for money quite the opposite. I have always been on friendly terms with Inspector Hennessy and I was very sorry when I saw his name on the list found at No. 3 East Street.
