Victoria Gaol.

Inspector Hennessy present: -

4th. September, 1897.

Sam Yin states: - I am at present a prisoner in Victoria Gaol undergoing a sentence of months imprisonment with hard labour for keeping a common gaming house at No. 2 Wa Lane.

I recognise the paper produced; it is a list of the persons to whom I gave bribes as hush money for the gambling house which I kept in No. 2 Wa Lane. I wrote the list myself. It is in the same condition as it was when it was in my possession. It has not been altered in any way. It was seized by the Captain Supt. of Police on the 21st. June.

I know the Inspector present. He is No. 6 Inspector. I have seen him passing in the street and my foki have told me that he was No. 6. I have never spoken to him.

On the list produced, there is an entry referring to No. 6.

It is the entry "6, collar, Fat", that means that one collar a day was paid to Yeung Fat to be given to No. 6 Inspector.
