Sam Yin states: - O Mi Cheung and Yeung Fat first came to me in the hot weather two years ago about the money for Corcoran. O Mi Cheung said that the "Tai Sa Luk I Tau" (i.e., the No. 5 Green Cloth Head Chief Inspector) wanted some expenses, I asked how much he wanted. Mi Cheung said $3 a day. Mi Cheung came with Yeung Fat because Mi Cheung did not know me and Yeung Fat did. I said if the branch in Cheung Hing Street pays him I must pay him also. I did not make enquiries of Lan Chi who was managing the Cheung Hing Street gambling house, I told Lan Chi that O Mi Cheung and Yeung Fat had been to ask for money for the No. 3 Head Policeman. I said they told me his name was Corcoran. I asked Lan Chi if he had paid Corcoran money. He said he had promised to pay him $3 a day, and that payment would begin on the following Monday. So when Yeung Fat called again I promised to pay the same as the Cheung Hing Street house. I paid from the following Monday. I used at first to pay Yeung Fat. I paid him every 5 days. He used to come to my place at Old West Street where the Depot was then situated over a Barber's shop. I cannot remember the number. It was 10 something. Afterwards I paid A Yi to pay to Tang Chung for Corcoran. Tang Chung told me that
"Tai Sa Luk I Tau" is a slang term for the Chief Inspector.
