2. Mr. Wright is aware of the circumstances under which I appointed Mr. Brewin to be one of the examiners at the next annual examination of the College and of the personal nature of that appointment, but nevertheless desires me to forward his protest for your consideration, and in complying with his request I have only to express my concurrence in the views of the Governing Body.

3. It is very difficult to obtain competent examiners in this Colony and, if Mr. Brewin is not to be allowed to assist in the examination, it is doubtful whether it will be possible to hold an
