Police Inspectors W. Stanton, W. Quincey, and Police Sergeant I. Holt, and W. Baker, on account of their suspect complicity with the keepers of an illegal gaming house at W. 2. Wa Lane, I have the honour to report that as the result of a careful enquiry into the cases of these officers by the Captain Superintendent of Police - with the assistance of the Crown Solicitor - it has been my unpleasant duty to dismiss them from the Police Force under section 24 of Ordinance No 14 of 1887 on the ground of gross neglect of duty in failing to discover and report the house in question.

As I anticipated in my earlier despatch, it has not been possible to collect sufficient evidence to institute criminal proceedings.
