claim to the allowance
granted to Mr. Bruce Shepherd
in lieu of fees, as Official Receiver in Bankruptcy, and to request instructions whether the ruling contained in the final paragraph of that despatch is intended to be retrospective.

Mr Seth received in
fees from the 15th April to the date of the passing of
Ordinance No. 24 of 1895-
a sum
of $508.22, and he
now claims remuneration
at the rate of $40 a month
from the 1st January to the 3rd November, 1896.
