I recognise the paper produced. It is a list of the presents made to Policemen. It shows the daily presents paid to each official person. I know that the Police received presents because when I was appointed watchman by Won Chen Chan, he told me that I need not be afraid.

Won Chen Chan employed me to look after the Central Station and give information of any movement against gamblers. I myself have been paid by Sam Cha Tham Chi to P.C. Leung Fat to give to Stanton.

I know that the money paid to Leung Fat was for Stanton because the paper which is enclosed was written by Chara Cléco Tai Tau. Tai Tau is a name applied to the Inspector in charge of the district.
