I beg to report respecting the gambling houses in Wa Lane.

That some portions of No. 4 has been more or less on and off for gambling since the end of July; that I have taken out four warrants against this house and executed them as follows:- on the 30th July Ground floor; 24th August; 6th October, Second Floor - arrests made. Two men arrested and convicted - Police Court Case No. 7325. In the three first instances there was no gambling going on, but strong doors, escape ladders and gambling gear were seized in each case.

Against No. 6 Wa Lane I have taken out two Warrants and executed them as follows – on the 29th of August six men arrested and Convicted. Police Court Case No. 6186, and on the 27th September, one man arrested and convicted under Sec. 13 of the Gambling Ordinance. Police Court Case No. 6892.

Nos. 1 and 3 Wa Lane are constructed with the same structure for escapes and going to the gambling there. A number of watchmen are employed. The gamblers are greatly ... Fat May Esqr ...
