The man was well known to the Police & he was constantly seen about the Central Police Station in company with Tseng Ut Poy, Interpreter to Inspector Store, Wan Sing, Head District Watchman, Cheng On an ex-policeman and Excise Officer in the Opium Farm and Jang Kam an ex-policeman & Shopkeeper, all made Statements between the 12th & 19th instant with the result that a prosecution for bribery was instituted against Inspector Store.
A copy of the evidence against Inspector Store & Mr Osmund was forwarded to me on the 15th inst. by me.

Inspector Mitchell was arrested and charged with the bribery on the 16th instant and the case was proceeded with at the Police Court on the following day, Sgt. Francis having charge of the prosecution owing to the Crown Solicitor being busily engaged.
