Be Leung said he could produce another employee of the Gambling House Establishment. I wished it, and I arranged to see him the same evening in Mr. Francis' Office, which that gentleman had kindly placed at my disposal for the purpose.
Be Leung said that his friend was afraid to come to the Police Station. The friend turned out to be a man named Fat Chi, who had been employed at the gambling house. He made a statement to Mr. Brewin, marked Enclosure (FL)345. "I have omitted from it such portions as referred to the gambling carried on at No. 3 Wa Lane, as his information on the point was practically the same as that given by Jae King in Court.
The remainder of the statement has reference to the complicity of the Police, and corroborates Be King's previous day's statement on the point.
Be Leung offered to bring still another employee of the gambling house to see me, and I arranged that he should bring the man.
