whose names appear on the list discovered by the Captain Superintendent of Police, but it has not been possible to bring them back again to give evidence. This absence of proof has rendered it impossible to deal with the large number of Police officers whose names appear on the list, but a strict watch will be kept on their behaviour. I do not propose to take any further action regarding them (excepting of course those officers who have been interdicted) unless additional evidence can be obtained against them.
I regret to have to point out that the name of Mr Corcoran, the Acting Deputy Superintendent of Police, appears on the list, but it has not been possible so far to take any proceedings against him – owing to want of sufficient evidence.
