31. When a member resigns at the quest of the Committee, his subscription for the current year shall be returned to him; but he shall be liable for all sums of money for materials, &c. due from him to the Competitions.

32. Resident members shall also be permitted to compete for any cups or prizes presented by the Club, or by private persons, unless the Club or such donors name conditions to the contrary. In such competitions, as well as in ordinary rounds of play, the customs pertaining to the established etiquette of golf shall be observed by players.
A ball may be lifted out of any Golf hole or any loose obstacle (such as barrows, rollers, baskets of grass or earth, sand boxes or other implements and material required for the upkeep of the ground for the game of Golf, or other purposes of recreation)—other than earth, sand, stones, leaves, &c. It may also be lifted if lying on any ground in course of being re-turfed, or if it lies on clothes or fishing-nets which have been laid out to dry. In such case the ball must be dropped behind the obstacle from the back of the head of the player facing the hole.
