intentions of the Military Authorities, so that I might have had an opportunity of expressing my regard to them.

I do not consider it likely that a Public Company will be formed to purchase and run the Hotel, though I am led to believe that the Public equally lacked any definite information in regard to the impending negotiations for its sale, and consequently were unable to take earlier action in the matter.

7. In these circumstances, I beg to submit the prayer of the Petitioners for your favourable consideration and that of the Secretary of State for War, and I have to request that the decision arrived at in regard thereto may be conveyed to me by telegraph at the earliest possible date.
