Report by the Harbour Master in regard to discharge of Seamen at Hong Kong.

Sanction for the discharge of

seamen at this port is not withheld provided the man is willing to be discharged and has a balance of wages due to him sufficient to provide him with board and lodging

for a reasonable time.

In the case of sickness,

discharge is only given

on the receipt

of a medical certificate to the effect that the seaman is unfit to proceed

to sea in the ship.

In the case of desertion a

report is required from the Master

that the seaman has left the ship without leave and has not returned
