and as to the Road round the Island, say that in approving this scheme (in desp. I tel. 421 and 7814) Mr. Chamberlain must not be understood to have sanctioned any idea, such as is referred to in these papers, of raising a loan for completing this road at once, but he merely contemplated its being carried out gradually out of current revenue, ask for more exact info as to the length &c. of the road, which will be taken in hand shortly.
Omit the first part in brackets: the hospital is partly the result of voluntary effort. I would not insist on the plans coming home.
