The Director of Public Works has pointed out the desirability of referring this important project to the Consulting Architects to the Colonial Office, who will doubtless, in accordance with your previously expressed opinion, be given a free hand to deal with them as they think desirable.

With respect to the financial aspect of the question, it will be seen on reference to the concluding paragraph of the Committee's Report that the total cost is estimated at $900,000.

The time required for the completion of the work will probably be between 6 years, so that it will be necessary to provide during those years for an annual expenditure of say $150,000.
