The Prison Rules are now

the necessary alterations in the Rules as to Corporal Punishment requested by Mr Chamberlain's Despatch have been carried out. The use of the Rattan has been abolished & Corporal Punishment is no longer allowed for offences against Prison Discipline except as stated in Paragraph 276 of the new Regulations.
