(Minutes.) with regard In the Gov's Despatch on 10977/1900 to the Medical Dep't in the Colony it was suggested that the Medical Dep't should consist of a Principal Civil medical officer, two Assistant Medical Officers, a Health Officer of the Port and a medical Officer in charge of the Gaol who should also inspect the Tung Wa Hospital in five in all.
This proposal was approved by Mr Chamberlain, who added however that none of Assistants should be exclusively appointed for particular duties, and concurred in the view that none of them should be allowed private practise.
