I have the honour to acknowledge, with thanks the receipt of a copy of Staff Surgeon Wilm's (Imperial German Navy) report on "the Epidemic of Bubonic Plague at Hong Kong Year 1896."

The report is mainly of a technical nature and deals for the most part with matters outside the profession of Engineering, but Section VII "The origin and the mode of dissemination of the Plague Hong Kong, page 23 contains statements which, to say the least, lack accuracy and are misleading and exhibit such a want of precision as to render it most unfortunate that they should have been published in what doubtless will be viewed as an official document.
