Visiting Surgeon of the Tung Wah Hospital, recommended in my despatch No.294 of the
29th December, 1896, is sanctioned by you, and Dr. Atkinson
is appointed Principal Civil Medical Officer,

will not be necessary to add another Assistant Surgeon to the Medical Department
on
the retirement of Dr. Ayres
on pension.
