This institution has

been hitherto maintained

as a

temporary establishment

for the isolation and treatment of diseases of an epidemic nature, and all charges

in connection with it's

the Estimates for 1897 were being prepared, the Acting Colonial Surgeon recommended

that this hospital should

permanent basis, and that a properly qualified wardmaster should be obtained from England,
