DEAR SIR,
I have much pleasure in supporting with my testimony the application of Mr. R. M. JAMESON, B.A., for the post of teacher of Chinese youths. Mr. JAMESON has been one of my Assistant Masters for a year, and during that time his work has been of such a character as to enable me to speak in the highest terms of his services.
Mr. JAMESON is an earnest and industrious worker, and succeeds in enlisting the interest of his pupils, even in subjects which boys often find uninteresting. Though an excellent disciplinarian, he does not fail to gain the goodwill and respect as well as the obedience of his pupils.
I have found Mr. JAMESON a most noticeable colleague to work with, and one who, though quite capable of independent action, has been ever ready to defer to my wishes.
Since I am able to add that Mr. JAMESON's moral influence with the boys has been all that could be desired, I have every confidence in recommending him for a position for which I believe him to be eminently qualified.
