I have the honour to apply for four months extension of my leave of absence from the Colony of Hong Kong on the grounds of continued ill-health.

Since my departure from Hong Kong, where I had been prostrated with malarial fever for a considerable time, I have suffered from no fewer than seven attacks, the last of which took place in September.

I enclose certificates from Drs. Cantlie and Milner-Moore, both of whom have attended me. They inform me that my return to the Colony at the commencement of next summer would result in very serious consequences to my health.

Trusting that my application will meet with your favourable consideration,

I have the honour to be, Sir, Your obedient servant,

Robt. M. Jameson, M.A.

Assistant Master,

Rue's College, Hong Kong.
