3. In consequence of the enclosed letter from Mrs Burdon, the wife of the late Bishop Burdon, I should be glad if you would cause inquiries to be made regarding the houses Lohan and Jara, and furnish me with any information you may have about this lady.
About Mrs Falconer, a letter testimonial written by the wife of the Bishop of Hong Kong for her had been enclosed. It had been inferred from previous communications addressed to his office by Mrs Falconer that she is of unsound mind, but from Mr Burdon's testimonial of character, it would seem that the assumption was unfounded.
I shall be glad to be informed what is the true state of the case.
