Anod. 17185.

18 July 96

I am directed by

M Secretary Chamberlain to

request you

to call the

attention of the Birmingham

Chamber of Commerce to the

2 passages

marked on

page 3

the enclosed consular report

on the trade of Amoy

for the year ended 31st Dec. 1895.

It will be seen that there

is a large demand for iron pans on the part of

the Chinese population of Hongkong

and the Straits Settlements which

might, it is suggested,

be supplied from Birmingham

thus opening a trade in iron pans.

Draw attention of Birmingham Ch. of Com. to what is said

W. Chamberlain
