State for War to acknowledge the
Sir,
I am directed by the Secretary of State for War to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 25th ultimo, No. 28230/96, respecting the appointment of a trained Hospital Warder in Hong Kong Gaol Hospital, and to acquaint you in reply that Corporal T.E. Holmes, Medical Staff Corps, at present serving at Woolwich, is recommended for this post. Should his appointment be approved by the Secretary of State for the Colonies, he will be transferred to the 1st Class Army Reserve for this purpose. His documents are forwarded herewith, and their return to this Department is requested.
