With reference to your letter dated 11th January 1896 asking whether any reply has been received from the General Officer Commanding at Hong Kong respecting the Military Reserves at New Kowloon; I am directed by the Secretary of State for War to acquaint you that no reply has yet been received from the General Officer Commanding at Hong Kong, but that it is hoped that one will arrive in the course of the next few weeks.
